I'm a 15-year-old teen and I'm no different from any of my fellow friends who are also hooked up to the computer these days just as teens were hooked on watching television just a decade ago. In today's advanced world, it's a common sight to see teens surfing the web, chatting with their friends on IMs, watching videos on YouTube, and interacting with their peers on Facebook and MySpace. Teens' active presence on the World Wide Web is indeed very crucial in determining the success of most social websites. Even though teens are heavily obsessed with social websites such as Facebook, MySpace and YouTube, but there are still some sites out there which are unpopular amongst teens. Millions of people around the world use the free web-based encyclopedia daily, be it bloggers researching on a particular software, students working on their projects, teachers using it as an educational tool and the list goes on. Gradually, the encyclopedia that anyone can edit has become a household name. It's not just its size or popularity, but also the way Wikipedia has evolved that makes it simple. Thousands of Web users volunteer their time and knowledge to help fulfill the community's goal of providing every person in the world with a high-quality encyclopedia in their native language. The non-commercial online encyclopedia which was launched on January 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, has just surpassed the 10 million registered users mark, hitting a milestone. One of the world's most visited sites on the Web, Wikipedia represents the future of publishing, and every company that produces information - from publishers to data providers - should be scared.

Trending topics are keywords that happen to be popping up in a whole bunch of tweets. The clever search system measures these topics and adjusts them in real-time throughout the day. It's indeed a great way of finding out what's happening right now. But what if you would like to find out what are the local Twitter trends of a particular city. This is when Mapmash's Twitter Local comes in really handy. Twitter Local is a mashup of both Google Maps and Happn.in. Created by Rakshith Krishnappa, the map shows the top 10 trending phrases in over 80+ major cities around the world. With this simple but useful map, you're able to find out what people are tweeting in your city by selecting a city and clicking on the green arrowhead on the map.

ShhTwitter is a new service which offers the same feature too. It allows you to send a message via the micro-blogging website without having to have an account, or use your account. Basically, in short, the main objective is to help users to publish tweets of which they are afraid that the messages might affect their reputation on the Twitterverse. Let's say you would like to voice out repugnant comments of your boss. Users can make use of its built-in color schemes to help them select a unique and sweet palette. What's more is that the elegant app automatically generates a combination of colors from your device's photo library or camera. Other features include editing your palettes by way of a name and rating, as well as saving a palette as a picture to your photo library and much more. After you're satisfied with your perfect palette, you can then export it out of your device either by saving the palette as an image in your photo library and upload it to an external entity or email the palette directly from the palette details page. The email will contain all of your colors, complete with hexidecimal codes and sample HTML code. As simple as that.
