TwiHotels Lets You Tweet Your Hotel Requirements on Twitter

Let’s say you’ve planned a romantic holiday to Paris, France with your spouse, and would like to select the most suitable hotel in terms of location, price, and accommodation. The traditional way people search for hotels is to head to online hotel finders to find out more about the facilities, photos, location and even reviews posted by other users before making a right decision. However, there are several downsides such as requiring a lot of searching and cross-referencing in order to select a good hotel at a reasonable rate. This is when the power of social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter comes in really handy.

Launched a few days, Twihotels is a fun, easy-to-use, simple and useful application which enables Twitterers to tweet their hotel requirements on their Twitter profile. Their followers will then respond by providing him/her with their expert advice on the best form of accommodation based on their experience of a particular city. It works quite similar to any other hotel finders on the web and the only difference is that it makes use of a different approach to garner genuine and useful firsthand experiences and thoughts.

To start, simply select your destination, hotel category, check-in and check-out dates, number of rooms, adults and children. After which, your hotel query will be posted on your Twitter profile and there is a possibility that users could be directly approached by hotels, apartments and lodges, which means more options to choose from. Of course, when you’ve a large number of followers, there is a higher chance for receive valuable feedbacks and advice from your friends or followers.

On the site, there’s an advanced search feature which allows you to search for tweets regarding a particular location. However, it only displays the tweets posted by users on TwiHotels earlier on instead of having a threaded conversation feature to show who have responded to that tweet. Due to Twitter’s 140 characters limit, the description of the hotel requirement of most tweets aren’t shown fully, which means that the number of adults and children are often missed out.

Overall, TwiHotels is indeed a simple but unique creation that will benefit many people – using it as a social tool to find the most suitable hotels or apartments for honeymoons, business trips, etc.
