At the end of last week, TechCrunch employee Daniel Brusilovsky was accused of extortion and was terminated. Daniel released an apology on his blog, but never came clean about what happened. Mixergy interviewed Daniel and found out his side of the story. Daniel claimed that he didn’t received the MacBook Air from the company who has offered him in exchange for a blog post about their start-up. And what’s more intriguing is that the post that they wanted him to write was never written at all.

I mean, this is a very touchy subject because everything has happened so quickly in the last half a day that its still kind of a shock to me that I don’t work at TechCrunch anymore. Yeah, I mean at this point I just want to make it clear that I never got a MacBook Air in exchange for a post that I never wrote. Eventually, the post that they wanted me to write was never written.

So who was right, and who was wrong?

People make mistakes. I think it's time for people to get over this particular one.
