Chinese Scientists Say Google Exit Would Hurt Research
Posted on February 26, 2010 | No Comments
A recent survey found out that a significant number of Chinese scientists think their research would be largely hampered if they lost access to Google, after the search engine juggernaut threatened to cease its operations in mainland China earlier this year.
Of the 784 Chinese scientists interviewed by Nature, 76 per cent said that Google is their primary search engine, followed by China's most popular search engine Baidu (16.5 per cent), and then Yahoo (2.6 per cent). Meanwhile, 84 per cent revealed that losing Google would “somewhat or significantly” hamper their research; ; 78% say that international collaborations would be affected to the same degree.

Crocodoc: Your Document Collaboration Tool
Posted on February 25, 2010 | No Comments
There are many great places on the web to collaborate, but it is really hard to do it with documents you have typed up on Word or iWork. Services like Google Wave and Evernote require you to do it all in their service. Why not type your document exactly how you want it in Word or iWork, upload it to Crocodoc, and have friends or colleagues collaborate with you? The great thing about Crocodoc is it offers a free version that doesn't allow you to sign up. Just upload and share your link.

If you own a LG phone and have been looking at the logo unintentionally every day but find nothing unusual about it, then you got to open your eyes big enough this time. Well, did you know that LG's logo is actually inspired by Pac-Man, a very popular arcade game in the 1980s? We consumers and probably even some of the employees working at the South Korean company were not aware about it until the secret was unravelled recently. And it is rather amusing though.

Data loss can happen at anytime. I have had my computer fail two times now, but saved by the fact I back my data up. It is very easy to do and it takes one of these products listed below. I know this post is random, but I think it is something that needs to be addressed (aka it's a slow day in tech news). You absolutely need to buy one of these products.

World of Warcraft [INFOGRAPHIC]
Posted on February 23, 2010 | No Comments
Online Schools put up this infographic about what really goes on behind the World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft is the most popular computer game played by 11 million.

Just last night Twitter and Yahoo confirmed their partnership. Yahoo, a search engine that is slowly dying (in my opinion). Google is taking over. The deal between Twitter and Yahoo is to be more exclusive than the one between Bing and Google. Bing and Google have had real time Twitter updates included in their updates for months now. This will be the first integration from Yahoo.More integrations coming this year.
