Crocodoc: Your Document Collaboration Tool
Posted on February 25, 2010 | No Comments
There are many great places on the web to collaborate, but it is really hard to do it with documents you have typed up on Word or iWork. Services like Google Wave and Evernote require you to do it all in their service. Why not type your document exactly how you want it in Word or iWork, upload it to Crocodoc, and have friends or colleagues collaborate with you? The great thing about Crocodoc is it offers a free version that doesn't allow you to sign up. Just upload and share your link.

URL Sniffer Bookmarklet Expands All Shortened URLs on a Web Page in Just One Click
Posted on February 20, 2010 | No Comments
Shortened URLS are seen as useful because they are easier to write down and look much neater as compared to a long URL, which contains many characters. Twitter users tend to use shortened links extensively due to the micro-blogging platform's default 140 characters limit. However, there is one major drawback to using shortened URLs. For example, when a user publishes a shortened link on Twitter, you won't know where is it heading to. It could be adult site or even malicious websites that could potentially harm your computer. This is when a little nifty bookmarklet comes in really handy.
Particularly useful for social media websites where shortened URLs are common, URL Sniffer expands and reveals shortened URLs before you click, and this helps to eliminate your fear of navigating to an unsafe website when you click on a shortened URL. To start, simply sign up a free account and confirm your email address by visiting the URL sent within the confirmation email.

Yazzem, a start-up created by a group of teenagers, released an API that will actually make this product go farther. The whole idea behind Yazzem is a place to start a topic, and let others join in the conversation. Incorporate the API into a great program like TweetDeck or a program made by an actual Yazzem user, this start-up will be amazing to use.
