CES: Motorola’s Press Conference

Today at CES (Consumer Electronics Show), Motorola held a pretty short press conference, but gave some good information.
Every Android device out will soon be getting a firmware update to Android 2.1. Android 2.1 will be what is on the Nexus One, and it looks pretty cool. The update will include Flash. Flash will work amazing on these phones, in my opinion. There was talk about new Android phones released in China, he didn't really go into detail.

CES: Samsung’s Press Conference

Today at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) Samsung rolled out a lot of cool, innovative, products.
At the beginning of the press conference Samsung talked about how they are going to hammer applications. They are going to try to implement them into their Blu-Ray players, cell phones, and TV. An application store will be rolled out this spring, and a "premium application" store later in the year. I think putting applications in all of these devices is a great idea. During the press conference they noted how fun it would be for the developers to create applications on a 55 inch screen. It is going to be great using applications, watching Youtube videos, and looking at pictures from Flickr, on such a big screen.

Google Press Conference: Nexus One Released

The Nexus One is said to be the fastest Android phone out there to date. Featuring great hardware and new Android software.
The phone is available on Tmobile right now. It will soon be available on Verizon and Vodaphone (Europe). Google will be selling two versions of the device themselves. One of the versions costing (unsubsidized) $529.00. The unsubsidized version is said to work on any network except AT&T's 3G, but you can still connect to their Edge network. The subsidized version, or the $179.00 version, will be available on Tmobile's network. To use the subsidized version you have to pay for Tmobile's Nexus One specific plan. The plan entitles you to 500 talk, unlimited Tmobile to Tmobile, unlimited text and web. The plan will cost $79.99. Some Tmobile customers will be availible for upgrade pricing. -
Teens in Tech Conference

The second Teens in Tech Conference is coming up. On February 6th, Daniel Bru and Sam Levin will be co-chairing a conference at Google's Headquarters in San Fransisco.
Teens in Tech is a website founded by Daniel Bru to let teens blog. It gives them a spot to get inspired and write their thoughts down. Last year, he got the great idea to turn it into a conference. He invites any teen to come, who can afford a ticket. There are some great speakers this year to inspire teens to venture into entrepreneurship online.
