Ultimate iPhone [VIDEO]
Posted on March 14, 2010 | No CommentsAs always we had high hopes (and still do that) Apple could come out with a revolutionary iPad. Instead, they came out with a woman's cosmetic product. I can't help but feel sorry for them. I was on YouTube and came across a video made in 2008 of what, back then, was expected of the upcoming iPhone 3Gs. It actually is an amazing video (great animation) of pretty much, not any type of iPhone we are going to get in the next year (probably, let's hope not, more). It seems to be the ultimate phone around. Okay, that's an understatement. The current iPhone is supposed to be the ultimate phone, problem is there isn't a better word than 'ultimate in the dictionary :(. -
Inventor of Cell Phone Ditched iPhone For Droid
Posted on March 12, 2010 | No Comments
Over the years, the mobile phone technology has changed rapidly, and it advances with a geometric progression rather than an arithmetical one. A decade ago, mobile phones weighed and looked like the size of a house brick. In a blink of an eye, today’s mobile phones are so small and thin that they could even be placed in your chest pocket.
I kowtow to the inventor of the cellular phone. Without him, we wouldn't be able to enjoy the luxury of making cordless phone calls, sending text messages, listening to songs, or even indulging in a game of Plants vs. Zombies -- all in this tiny pocketable gadget. His name is Martin Cooper, and he was a vice president and division manager who led the Motorola team that developed the handheld mobile phone back in 1973. Although he often credits the invention to his wife, but the 81-year-old humble man is still widely regarded as the main figure behind the invention of the mobile phone.

Posted on March 10, 2010 | No CommentsA decade ago, cell phone was an luxury that only the rich can afford. But today it has evolved to a necessity in our lives. Almost every citizen in a developed country like Singapore, United States and United Kingdom do own a mobile device, and now the trend is skewed towards to the smartphone market -- Apple's iPhone, Google's Android and Nokia's Symbian. Cell phones are no longer an ugly brick-like structure that weighed a ton, and have changed the way we live and work. The folks over at cellphones.org have put together some really astounding numbers into an attractive infographic encircling the topic on how obsessed we are with our cell phones. -
iPad To Do Phone Calls? [VIDEO]
Posted on March 5, 2010 | No Comments
A small piece of interesting information has been given off by the iPad SDK. Previously the iPhone 3.2 SDK was rumored that the iPhone and iPad might have a “video chat function“. And now it seems like the iPad has the “ability” to make emergency calls.
The guys over at Gumball Tech have enabled a passcode lock on the SDK by entering incorrect passwords for 5 times. This enabled the emergency call function to be activated, as shown in the image above.
It’s still unclear why Apple has included the emergency call function in the iPad SDK. It might not be seen in the real iPad though. It could have to do with the FCC regulations that wireless devices, such as the iPad, must be able to make emergency calls.

AT&T Phone Featuring Google’s Android Will Use Yahoo As Default Search Engine
Posted on March 3, 2010 | No Comments
In a shocking move, AT&T's new Motorola Backflip, which runs on Google's Android OS, will feature Yahoo as the smartphone's default search provider instead of Google. This is the first time I've heard of a Google Android handset not using the Google Search by itself. Yahoo will be set up to handle mobile Internet searches, though users can still choose Google if they desire to.
David Katz, a vice president at Yahoo, said in an e-mailed statement, "We have a long-standing relationship with AT&T and more than 80 carrier partnerships around the world for our award- winning mobile-search experience. Mobile search continues to be a focus for investment and innovation."
Meanwhile, Google declined to comment on the Backflip, saying "This is not a Google-branded product and, therefore, product inquiries should be directed to AT&T and Motorola."

Video Chat to come to Apple Mobile Devices?
Posted on February 21, 2010 | No Comments
For the last couple of days word has been spreading around of Video chat to come to Apple's mobile arsenal, including the iPad and iPhone, something they are both missing. The devloper kit you can download, to develop applications, had code that revealed an "Accept Video" and a "Decline Video" button. There is also reference to the OSX application iChat.

Best Buy Devour Pre-Sale is Up; Will You Be Buying One?
Posted on February 19, 2010 | No Comments
The Motorola Devour is the next Android phone coming to Verizon. It isn't a Droid competitor but an alternative. The Droid beats the Devour in screen size, speed, and the operating system. Best Buy kicked off its Devour pre-sale earlier this week.
Usually phones are sold with a rebate, you pay some extra money, they give it back to you later. Best Buy has not setup a rebate system with the Devour. The way Best Buy will be doing things is with a gift card. If you signed up for the pre-sale you are required to buy a $50.00 gift card (hopefully spendable) that will hold your spot in line, what a new way of doing things.
Will you be buying a Devour? We will have to wait until the 25th to see the price point, hopefully something to compete with the HTC Droid Eris price point of $100.00.
